Pandora’s Box Summary in English
Once there lived a lovely boy called Epimetheus. He had everything except a friend. One day he saw mercury wearing a a winged cap. He had wings open upon his heels also. He saw a beautiful girl Pandora with hiim Epimetheus was happy and he welcomed her. They both played happily.
One evening they saw mercury in dusty clothes. He was carrying a huge box on his shoulder. Pandora whispered to Epimetheus to find what was inside the box. But Mercury did not tell them but he asked whether he could leave that box there.
After Mercury went, Epimetheus called Pandora to play. But she was curious to know what was inside the box. She wanted to open it. But it was a hard task. She tried and tried. Suddenly the knot came loose and she could hear whispers from the box. She put her ears and heard sad voices telling her to free them from the dark prison.
She heard Epimetheus coming and so she opened the lid a little but before he came When did did all kinds of ugly stinging creatures flew out and stung both of them. They both sobbed and cried. Epimetheus blamed Pandora for their misery. Suddenly they heard a sweet voice from the box ‘Open the box I would heal your wounds’.
Pandora opened the box and a dainty fairy called Hope came out and she touched gently all their wounds and healed them and flew out of the window to heal others.
